The Wheatcroft family name became a well-known fixture in the Nottingham area from the 1950’s, when successive generations were at the forefront of the UK rose trade.
Following the establishment of the Wheatcroft Garden Centre at the junction of the A52 and A606, the adjacent traffic island was informally named by locals, and the media, and is still known today as Wheatcroft Island!
The Wheatcroft family established the Business Park on the site of the former rose growing fields to the rear of the Garden Centre with views towards Sharp Hill Wood.

The local area
Located behind Notcutts Garden Centre, the access road, Landmere Lane, is off Melton Road, a route leading off ‘Wheatcroft island’. The Business Park consists of seven individual buildings with a barrier system providing secure parking where needed.
The surrounding area consists of a small but vibrant retail park with outlets Costa Coffee, Aldi, McDonald’s, Greggs, Busy Bees Nursery and Pets Corner, open green space and local beauty spot, Sharp Hill Wood.
Transport Links
The Wheatcroft Business Park is located at the end of Landmere Drive with immediate access to the Nottingham to Grantham A52, Nottingham to Melton A606 and excellent access to local communities such as Edwalton, West Bridgford, Gamston, Plumtree, Cotgrave, Radcliffe on Trent, Cropwell Bishop, Cropwell Butler, Saxondale, and many more. Once on site, there is secure parking (by prior negotiation), cycle racks, and electric vehicle charge points due for installation in the near future.
Trentbarton operate a regular bus service along Melton Road with a stop at the entrance to Landmere Lane. The Nottingham to Keyworth ‘the keyworth’ departs Nottingham city every 15 minutes.
Local taxi companies include West Bridgford Taxis, DG Cars and DJM Taxis based in Cotgrave and Grand Cars operate a luxury transfer service for the local area.
